Materials
Week 2 - Colour pencils, oil pastels
Week 3 - Water colour paint, patterned paper/ wrapping paper
Brief Lesson Outline
Week 1
1. Refer to PPT notes for questions to discuss.
2. Introduce Georgia O'Keeffe.
3. Pupils to draw their own rendition of a flower.
4. Learn the different parts of a flower and draw a second rendition. (Same page of sketchbook)
5. Observe and appreciate different types of flowers, focusing on petal shape and colour.
6. Pupils to sketch different petal shapes. (Same page of sketchbook)
Week 2
1. Observe and appreciate Georgia O'Keeffe's flower paintings.
2. Refer to PPT for explanation on Colour and Balance.
3. Pupils to colour (colour pencil) their 2 flowers. (Refer to PPT)
4. Introduce Art Project step by step.
5. Complete first step. (Oil pastel drawing)
Week 3
1. Paint over the oil pastel design. (Water colour)
2. Cut out petal shapes from patterned paper.
3. Paste in the shape of a flower.
4. Refer to PPT for conclusion.
Assessment: Informal (Peer feedback)
- Pupils will jot down on their friends' art work about what they like about it.
